SATURDAY SCHOOL - FULL DAY WORKSHOP
Learn how a show is put together from start to finish. And it begins and ends with the Showrunner. The Showrunner is the heart and soul of any television production. Sometimes called the Executive Producer or Creative Producer, essentially a Showrunner is the person or team of people responsible for overseeing and protecting the creative vision of the show from beginning to end. They are there from the start of story development and are often the creators or Head Writers of the story. They must then steer that story through all the various stages of its creation, working closely with broadcasting and streaming clients, creative heads of departments, crew, on screen talent and production and post production teams to see the creative vision realized. But it's not all about creativity. Showrunning requires a rare breed of talent that combines both creativity with human resources skills and strong business acumen, juggling all those hats while keeping the troops motivated to finish on time and on budget. Sound daunting? It is. But it's also a lot of fun!
Led by renowned Showunner, Head Writer, and Executive Producer, Busisiwe Ntintili.
